As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we’re spotlighting the wonderful family connections that make our club so special. Meet our next duo, Yvonne and her son Olly, who have been regular playing partners for two decades!
For this pair, golf has been a staple of their relationship for about 20 years. It’s a weekly highlight they both look forward to, though the "highlights" aren't always just about the golf. When asked what the best part of sharing a round with his mum is, her son was quick to answer:
"Easily the gossip! You get a full family update every time we’re out there, whether you want it or not."
While the conversation flows easily, the competition is a little more debated. When it comes to the head-to-head leaderboard, there seems to be a slight difference of opinion. "I’d say I’m comfortably in front," Olly tells us. "Mum might have a different version, but I’m sticking with mine!"
Whether it’s for the family news or the friendly rivalry, their story reminds us that the best rounds are the ones spent with the people who know us best.
