The course will be closed on September 15th for Green Renovations (coring and aeration). While these works are essential for maintaining healthy, high-quality greens, putting surfaces may take up to two weeks to fully recover and return to their usual condition.

Facility Update: Windbreakers Coming to Riverside Courts!

Facility Update: Windbreakers Coming to Riverside Courts! cover

If you’ve been down to the courts recently, you might have noticed a bit of extra activity around the perimeter fencing on the north and west sides of our main block of 16 tennis and netball courts.

Thanks to recent structural upgrades completed by the Council to reinforce the fencing, brand-new windbreakers are officially being installed across all courts!

The north end windbreakers are already fully installed and operational, giving players an immediate shield against those tough southerly and northerly gusts. Installations along the remaining west and south sides will follow very shortly to complete the barrier.

Whether you're serving for match point or cheering on your team from the sidelines, these additions will drastically cut down crosswinds, making playing, scoring, and spectating much more enjoyable on breezy days.

What to Know

Reinforced Fencing: Structural upgrades have been completed on the north and west fencing to support wind protection.

Full Court Coverage: The north side installation is already complete and functional, with the west and south sides coming very soon.

Better Playability & Spectating: Once complete, all 16 multi-use tennis and netball courts will be shielded from harsh wind gusts, ensuring fairer play, truer ball flights, and a much more comfortable experience for spectators.

Next time you're down at Riverside for a hit or a match, take a look at the newly shielded north courts! We can't wait to have full coverage ready for you soon!
