GOLF TIP cover

The majority of the elements of a good golf shot happen before you even swing the club. To give yourself the best chance at success, make sure you are incorporating these essential steps into your pre-swing routine.

  1. Stand behind the ball and pick your target (keep in mind it’s not always the flag)
  2. Visualise and commit to an ideal ball flight (left to right / right to left / straight / high or low)
  3. Have one practice swing (focus on rhythm, balance and your ball flight selected in step 2
  4. Pick an immediate target (this is a spot on the ground approximately 2 feet in front of your ball on your target line)
  5. Set up aiming club-face at your immediate target
  6. Focus on slightly closed stance and ball position back for draw shots and slightly open stance with ball position forward for fade shots
  7. Create good posture with core muscles engaged and relaxed upper body (shoulders, arms, wrists)
  8. Final thoughts before commencing swing should be on target and ball flight
