Last week, Melbourne was called into the State of Emergency for extreme weather conditions and flood warnings.
The northern suburbs endured ongoing rain for a few days before we started to see road closures and the flooding of the Maribyrnong River.
Unfortunately, Riverside was severely affected and the whole precinct is now closed, including the Golf Course, Driving Range, Mini Golf, The Pro Shop, Tennis and Netball courts, as well as the Riverside Kitchen and Bar. Despite attempts to elevate stock, most of the items in the Pro Shop were irreparably damaged. Sadly, the course is still unplayable.
The water has mostly subsided, however, a thick layer of sludge has been left behind. Despite the best efforts of BlueFit and Moonee Valley Council team members, there is still much work to do to repair the damages. We are optimistic that we can get the course and the Pro Shop back into tip-top condition before too long, and we will keep all our members and regulars updated as the cleanup progresses.
We are extremely appreciative of all the support our members have shown on our recent Facebook posts and we are grateful for your patience during this unforeseeable event.
We are doing our best to clean up as quickly as possible so you can get back out there for a swing!
All the best and stay well,
The team at Riverside
